The study of the heritage of the Alash period within the framework of new scientific paradigms is
one of the urgent problems in modern domestic social and humanitarian sciences. The searches conducted in
the direction of interdisciplinary connections show the abundance of folklore material in the heritage of Alash.
The intelligentsia of the nation rationally used folk wisdom in instilling the ideals of political struggle and
enlightenment in getting rid of colonialism in the spirit of the awakening era in the minds of the general public.
When the spiritual heritage was studied in the aspect of integrative folklore studies, it was noticed that the folk
aesthetics was clearly expressed in the works of the Alash period.
The article explores the work of Akhmet Barzhaksyuly who collected and published Kazakh proverbs as a
national treasure. The significance of the first scientific step in systematization of the nature and genre of the
specifics of Kazakh proverbs is determined. Valuable findings in the differentiation of the artistic and aesthetic
structure of Kazakh proverbs are highlighted. Important steps in determining the folklore character, social
significance and aesthetic world of Kazakh proverbs are analyzed. The special significance of the theoretical
definitions given to fairy tales, poems, riddles, proverbs and sayings about A. Barzhaksнuly is emphasized. The
importance of collecting one thousand three hundred Kazakh proverbs and publications entitled as «Thousand
proverbs» in domestic folklore is assessed.
