Borrowed vocabulary in dictionaries as a result of language contacts between the russian and tatar peoples

Abstract

One of the most important directions in the historical and linguistic study of Russian-Tatar language
contacts is the study of foreign language vocabulary of a certain historical period based on lexicographic works.
In this regard, bilingual dictionaries are a valuable source that reflects the cultural and linguistic contacts of the
Turkic-Tatar people with the Slavic peoples and played a significant role in the dialogue of these ethnic cultures.
We believe that the relevance of the study of foreign language vocabulary in bilingual dictionaries of the
XIX century is due to the lack of a systematic description of Russian-European borrowings in the TurkicTatar lexicographic Fund, and is also determined by the need to address issues related to the identification
of the national-language picture, potential opportunities and systematic development of the Tatar language
vocabulary in the light of the current stage of language globalization.
Russian Russian-European borrowings recorded in the Tatar-Russian dictionaries of the XIX century are the
result of a long historical dialogue of languages and cultures. The immutability, stability and preservation of
most lexical units in the modern language suggests that these lexicographic monuments of the studied period
recorded the most frequent words, i.e. the main lexical Fund of the Tatar language with Russian-European
borrowings.
