Abstract

This article examines the analysis of the lexico-semantic features of the comparative
dictionary of the Turkish-Tatar words of the Turkologist L.Z. Budagov and problems of determining the
place in modern Turkic languages. The analyzed language articles can confirm that more valuable materials
are presented in the dictionaries of the second part of the 19th century, in which the world vision of the
ancient Turkic, their customs and traditions are saved. This lexicographic work occupies a special place in
Kazakh linguistics, therefore the article deals with the author of the dictionary, the aims and tasks of the
work, the structure, the system of word transfer, transcription, interpretation and historical values. There
are also specific examples to identify topics that show that this historical work is a huge contribution to
linguistics and that its value is very high. Examples of specific aspects of the Kazakh people’s traditions,
family traditions and customs are given, such as: bes kunak, kuralai, kozy kuzem, suyr bazary, etc. These
examples correspond to everyday customs that occur in the western region of modern Kazakhstan.
