Turning to the history of the emergence and development of applied (descriptive) geometry as a science, it is necessary to turn to the origins of its formation. The rapid development of scientific achievements in applied geometry was the result of scientific research and discoveries in the past centuries. Advances in applied geometry are based on detailed studies of the past. Historical information on applied geometry is often limited to descriptions of the works of European scientists. Sometimes the numerous discoveries of Eastern mathematicians are unfairly attributed to Western mathematicians or mentioned in passing. This article is devoted to the review of the contribution of geometrical heritage of al-Farabi, Muhamed al-Khwarizmi, Abu-r-Rayhan al-Biruni and other scientists of Central Asia. The authors aimed to present in this study as fully as possible the merits of medieval scientists in the emergence of applied geometry terms before its justification by Gaspar Monge in his book “Descriptive Geometry”. The article highlights the place of applied (descriptive) geometry. The history of origin of applied and descriptive geometry as a science is considered. The definitions of the main geometrical terms given by great thinkers are highlighted.
