Abstract

This article discusses the relationship between social and cognitive parameters of
business discourse. Business discourse is defined a complex communicative phenomenon, the language
component of which is a purposeful mental-speech activity, actualized through psychological and cognitivepragmatic processes occurring in the minds of business communicants. The use of the sociocognitive
approach in modern studies of business discourse allows one to deeper comprehend the communicative
and pragmatic aspect of the linguistic sign and to better understand the national and cultural specifics of
business communication.
