Abstract

The eighty-year history of the second half of the 19th century and the 30s of the
20th century created many historical figures in Kazakh literature. The article analyzes the works
of the poet Nurali Nysanbaiuly, who wrote religious “qissa-dastan” in Kazakh literature. The poet
Nurali is a famous person who left a huge legacy in the history of Kazakh literature. As a result
of several years’ research in 2009-2015, a full academic publication on the heritage of the poet’s
religious school in the southern region was published as part of the mega-project “Treasure of
the South”, dedicated to the historical and spiritual heritage of the Turkestan region. Of the more
than 300 books, the literary heritage of Nurali akyn amounted to 13 books and especially attracted the attention of literary scholars. Particular attention was paid to the stories and epics of the poet
