This article provides a brief description of the abbreviation and its specificity in diplomatic
language. The article studies the formation of abbreviations, their linguistic characteristics, general
principles, patterns of formation, their scope, proportion of international terms in the language. With the
help of linguistic analysis, methods of their creation and application for their conceptual features were
determinated. The components which combine words in creation of complex words are entirely composed
from international seme. The borrowed diplomatic terms in English often change their original forms, but
diplomatic terms in Kazakh usually retain their original forms. Here we can assume that their phonetic
structures will also be changed gradually. The article was prepared on the basis of written sources and
literature.
