Abstract

The article considers the expressive power of paremias, emphasizing the importance of their use in teaching and education. Proverbs and sayings, acting as a cultural code and national value, are an important expressive tool that should be used linguistically in the era of globalization and changing social contexts. The concept of clip thinking, which has become widespread today, increases the pragmatics of small-genre proverbs and sayings. As part of the research, a survey was conducted among young people to determine how paremias in the form of proverbs and sayings are perceived in a modern context and to what extent. The survey results show that in the linguistic consciousness of young people, these small genres of folk oral literature are recognized as means of education and exchange of life experience, also placing a special emphasis on paremias acting as spiritual guidance in life and being helpful in bringing the message in an effective and clear way. The results of the presented article will be useful for further research in communicative linguistics, emotology, ethnolinguistics and other anthropological areas of linguistics.
