Globalization and humanization occurring in modern society have created a new paradigm for assessing values in the aesthetic and spiritual sphere. In this case, it is necessary to pay special attention to national culture and literature and its branches. Literary criticism, as an integral part of literary criticism, is closely related to the history and theory of literature. This is how the essence of literary creativity is revealed. Literary criticism evaluates the development of the literary process and highlights a work of art from the point of view of today. By orienting the ideological and aesthetic quality of the literary and artistic world, criticism determines the level of its development in a specific period. From this perspective, criticism also undergoes a developmental phase and attains a state of maturity. If we look at the historical roots of literary criticism, we can see that it is profound. Objectivity of criticism and artistic and aesthetic assessment help prevent the decline of literature and art. The genre of criticism requires a sharp, insightful critic. One of the persons recognized in the development of criticism is T. Kakishuly. The researcher’s works in the field of criticism show his special contribution to this genre.
