The archetype «Mother Earth» in the traditional worldview of the Kazakhs finds its
roots in the ancient Türkic mythopoetic thinking and occupies an important place in the national mentality.
The attitude of the nomad to the land was not based on economic or legal considerations, but was based
on a deep spiritual connection with it. The article considers the symbolic meaning, functional load, imagesemantic structure, ideological and artistic transformation of this archetype based on poetic texts. Through
features of the representation of the theme of native land in different periods of the Kazakh poetry of
the twentieth century, trends in the development of ethnic identity are identified, and in this context a
scientific analysis of the creative peculiarity of the works of eminent poets K.Myrzaliyev, M.Makataev,
J.Nazhmedenov, T.Aybergenov was conducted.
