Abstract

The image of Saryarka occupies a significant place in the traditional worldview of the
Kazakh people. For several centuries, it was a symbol of the territorial integrity and national unity of the
autochthonous nomadic population of the Steppe region. There are various scientific interpretations about
the origin and content of the toponym «Saryarka». This article examines the artistic representation of the
image of Saryarka in Kazakh poetry of the 15th-20th centuries in the context of its genesis, evolution
and transformation. The publication provides a thorough and detailed analysis of the poetic works of the authors from the standpoint of their worldview characteristics, which were formed under the influence of
socio-political, cultural and spiritual changes in society.
