Kazakh script based on Latin graphics: spelling and orthoepy

Abstract

The article deals with the problems of Kazakh writing based on Latin graphics.
The work on the transition of the Kazakh alphabet to the Latin alphabet was carried out both by the
government and by journalists, and as a result of many years of research by scientists, the
government was presented with the latest improved version of the alphabet. In this regard, the
article will discuss the current need for the Latin alphabet, as well as the features of an improved
version of the 31-letter alphabet based on Latin graphics and its manifestation in writing. In
particular, the use of diacritic characters in the modern alphabet, i.e. umlaut, brevis, Macron, sedil,
Tilda, is described. The manifestation of each diacritic sign in the marking is described and its
significance is determined. In addition to the alphabet, the spelling rules, problems of spelling and
orthoepy, and the assimilation of foreign language terms are discussed in detail. In addition, the
peculiarities of marking I and U, which are among the complex sounds of Kazakh linguistics, and
the ways of transmission in the rules are revealed in detail.
