Abstract

The written monuments in Mamluk-Kipchak language of Middle Ages, including problems associated with monument “Baytaratul-vazih” is considered in the article. The study of the connection between the Kipchak language of written monuments and the modern Kazakh language allows to identify historical and genetic links between them and determine directions of historical development. Medieval Mamluk-Kipchak written monuments related to horse breeding, horses and military art, including “Kitab fi riyadat al-Khail”, “Kitab Baytarat al-Wadih”, “Munyat al-Guzat”, “Kitab fi ilm al-Nushshab” were analyzed. Main features of Baitarat al-Wadih manuscript were identified. The manuscript “Baytarat al-Vadih” is a work on veterinary services related to horse breeding and horses. As significant work in veterinary medicine field, manuscript “Baytarat al-Vadih” provides extensive information that allows to study development of scientific vocabulary in the Kipchak language and culture.

The introduction of written monuments in Mamluk Kipchak language into scientific circulation and comprehensive study of their features are important tasks for modern science of Kazakh linguistics. In this regard, main purpose of article is to determine importance of medieval written monuments in Mamluk Kipchak language for Kazakh people, their role in science and culture of Kazakh people, as well as to identify main features of the work “Baytaratu'l-vazih”.
