Abstract

One of the latest trends in the linguistics development is the pragmatic aspect
of new words. From this point of view, the author considers the pragmatic meaning of the affixal
derivatives of the German language. The purpose of the article is to define the pragmatic components
of affixal derivatives in German. This goal was achieved through a component analysis of new words.
As a result, the author indicates that the affix being added to the canonic words of the language gives
a new meaning to the derived word. In turn, the new derived word can have intentional, implicational
and emotional components of pragmatic meaning.
