field of study, the problems of literary texts translation require special attention and there is still
no clear basis for identifying the pragmatic impact of equivalent translation on the reader. In this

and tries to answer a dilemma of whether it is possible to translate a literary text or whether it
is necessary to interpret it. The works and scientific articles of the recent years have studied the problem of “translation and interpretation” from different angles, thereby attracting the interest
of many researchers and translators. Such concepts as linguistic and private interference, positive
and negative interference, equivalence criteria for literary translation have been determined and
analyzed in the article.
