In the last ten-fifteen years the continuity of language and culture in linguistics has been studied
cognitively, and the new field of linguistics, which studies linguistics in connection with the national language
and national culture, is developing rapidly. In addition, recent researches have been dealt with the issue of
«concept» in the cultural and cognitive areas, and different fruitful conclusions have been drawn. The concept
is a way of knowing the world, preserved in the ethnocultural consciousness and passed down from generation
to generation with a deep meaning, reflecting the true nature of the nation. In the linguocultural studies, any concept is verbalized in different linguistic units, in particular, in the
words, idioms, paremiological fund, poems, etc. The problem of studying the basic concepts of the modern
conceptosphere is is considered as the task of the linguocultural studies. The concept of «tongue/word», which
plays an important role in human life belongs to such concepts. In this regard, the article examines the features
of verbalization of the concept of «tongue/ word» in the Kazakh paremiological fund. In the study the proverbs
related to «tongue / word» in the Kazakh language are semantically grouped, and a linguocultural analysis was
made
