Abstract

The article permeates the vertical three-story model of the universe according to ancient Turkic literary
sources and folklore. The upper world of Kyok Tengri, the middle world of the Sacred Er-Suv, the underworld
under the rule of Erlikkhan according to the Orkhon-Yenisei epitaphs, “Yrk bitig” and folklore sources have been
studied.
A comparative analysis of the ancient Turkic myths about the world order and the images of Kök Tengri, Sacred
Er-Suv, Umai and Erlikkhan have been carried out. The worldviews in the ancient Turkic runic monuments and
other written sources have been compared.
The mythological images of Karash, Mattir, Shingai, Kumirkhan, Badish biy, Yabash, Temirkhan, Uchakhan,
Kereykhan, the spirit of death Byurt and others are noted. peoples The authors have reconstructed a three-storey
model of the universe of the ancient Turkic. The model of the world order in the epitaphs of Kul Tigin, Ongin,
the rock inscription of Gurvalzhin-Ula, the inscription from Altynkol and the book of divination «Yrk bitig» is
investigated.
The mythological images of Kyok Tengri, Umai, Erlik Khan have been studied separately from written and oral
sources. The XII and LV parables in the book of fortune telling «Yrk bitig» have been analyzed. And also, the words
«Tengri» and «Kam» (shaman) in «Divan lugatit-turk» and Turkic runic monuments have been comparatively
studied.
