The Theory of "Performance" in world folklore studies and its view in Turkic Folklore

Since the beginning of the ХХ century, there has been a different approach to
the analysis of the folklore text and a different method of research has been proposed. As one of
them, the theory of "Performance" has been widely discussed among folklore scientists of the world
since 1970. "Performance" is a term used to refer to the performance of a folk work on stage or in
public. New opinions were expressed for the first time in the studies of oral folk art, but it was the
American scientist Dan Ben-Amos who proposed them as a theory in the scientific environment.
He proves that the folklore text is directly influenced by the professionalism of its narrator, framework of the speaker-listener-text triad. This theory has been used since 1970 in America,
Turkey and European countries, along with scientific research, in educational programs. Despite
the fact that studies of such content are in Kazakh folklore, there is not a close connection with the
world process. Kazakh folklore needs a new differentiation in the light of modern humanitarian
knowledge in accordance with world experience. Therefore, the article analyzes the theory of
"performance", studies the connection with Kazakh folklore. Using the example of oral folk art-the
traditions of aitys and zhyrshylyk, the place of this theory in Turkic folklore is indicated.
