It is known that the character of political and economic transformation at the
present stage is reflected in the language, that is, its lexical and word-formation system. The
development and usage of new words in the language are excited the linguists from ancient time.
But its relevance is now clearly differentiated. Because modern mass media has a “neologic
explosion”. The new structures develop on all the linguistic levels, not just words belong to
neologisms, but also the structure and meaning of all new language units. Although the term
neologism is not new, there are still existing theories of linguistic features. The main purpose of
this article is to study those theoretical basics and to identify their differences and similarities. The
article focuses on the scientists’ researches who are studying new words in linguistics and their
main directions
