The article is devoted to the study of the sociocultural marking of lexemes in the youth sociolect. Its relevance lies in the fact that this version of the communicative subsystem of the language, which is differentiated in society in accordance with the stratified parameter of the social group of young people and is necessary for expressing their needs. This sociolect has not found proper coverage in the linguistic literature. In linguistics, words with pragmatic and connotative meanings expressing the subjective emotional attitude of young people have not been studied and described; words-symbols denoting adherence to any cultural interests have not been identified.
In the course of the study, a sociolinguistic and associative experiment was conducted using the observation method, and a contextual linguo-pragmatic analysis of the word was also carried out.
In the article, we focus on the determinism of the lexical units of the youth sociolect subculture, which is manifested in the presence of words-symbols in it as a means of self-expression, as well as in the use of words with additional connotative and pragmatic connotations.
The novelty of this study lies in the fact in this work, for the first time, the sociolect of youth was considered within the framework of an integral methodological paradigm; the connection of the language of youth with its subculture and social structure of society was revealed, as well as the factors of socio-cultural conditions of the sociolect and its sociocultural variability were considered: the functions of the sociolect of youth were characterized.
Thus, the conclusion is made about the determinism of lexical units of the youth sociolect by the age subculture, which is manifested in the use of symbolic words in it as means and methods of self-expression, as well as words with connotative and pragmatic concepts.
