The necessity for considering new means and units of nomination in the aspect of a
pragmatic and cognitive-discursive paradigm is substantiated. The main tool for describing euphemisms and dyshemisms (E and D) as a means of conceptualizing the linguistic picture of the world is demonstrated.
The semantic volume of the presented speech acts (hereinafter - RA) allows us to describe the substantial
potential of the speech phenomena under consideration. The results of the semantic analysis of RA E and
D as special types of verbal-intellectual games, the mechanism for formation of E and D as members of
a linguistic dichotomy have shown the importance of that aspect of the research presented by RA. Actual
tendencies of emotional-evaluative qualification of the significance of the phenomena under consideration
are determined. A comparative analysis of E and D and nominative areas to be paraphrased are presented.
The stylistic originality of euphemisms and dyshemisms is examined in detail
