The article describes the ideological features of the Kazakh poetry of the period
of independence, while analyzing the judgements of representatives of the Kazakh intellectuals
A. Baitursynov, M. Zhumabayev, R. Berdibay on national consciousness. As for the question
of the patriotic spirit of the Kazakh people, the protection of the native land and love for the
Matherland is a phenomenon that improves thoughts and self-consciousness. In poetic works of the
period of independence of the prominent representative of Kazakh poetry Meyrkhan Akdauletuly
is considered the problems of national worldview and national consciousness. Analyzes the
ideological content poems of the poet «Gyl – Zhusan», «Zhusan yisi», «Dank memorialynda tugan
olender», «Zholaman batyrdyn koshtasuy» from the collections «Daruishnama», «Beyuaktagy
minazhat». The judgements are given of the famous poet Ertai Ashykbayev about the work of
the poet M. Akdauletuly. The author concludes that among the works of M. Akdauletuly with a
deep philosophical meaning, poems about heroes and heroism, justice and nobility, love for the
Motherland and native land occupy a special place in our literature of the period of Independence
